The Government of Nauru and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat wish to advise that applications for media accreditation to this year’s 49th Pacific Islands Forum are being accepted.
The theme for the Forum is Building a Strong Pacific: Our People, Our Islands, Our Will. The headline events will be: Monday, 3rd September 2018 Smaller Island States Leaders’ Meeting (am) Pacific ACP Leaders Meeting (pm) Opening Ceremony (evening) Tuesday, 4th September 2018 Civil Society Organisations engagement with Forum Leaders (am) Private Sector Dialogue with Forum Leaders (am) Forum Leaders Dialogue Session with Associate Member and Forum Observers (pm) Forum Leaders Dialogue Session with Forum Dialogue Partners (pm) Wednesday, 5th September 2018 Forum Leaders’ Retreat (all day)
As in previous years there will be a media workshop hosted by the Pacific Islands News Association and the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat on Saturday 1st September. This will be an opportunity to get a briefing on many of the issues that will be covered during the Forum meetings.
Media wishing to attend should complete an expression of interest for media accreditation and email it to pifmedia@naurugov.nr, with copy to media@forumsec.org Please note that due to limitations of facilities and accommodation, each Forum member is permitted between 1 to 3 media representatives only.
You will be advised in due course if your application is accepted. The deadline for applications is the 15th June 2018.
