The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat in Suva, Fiji with some of its partners is organizing a meeting and two events from 9 – 12 October and the media is invited to cover them.
Details of the meeting and the events are as follows:
1. Event: Regional Launch of the ‘New Flags Flying’ book written by Ian Johnstone and Michael Powles.
It features interviews with some of the founding Leaders of the Pacific Region.
Date : Tuesday 9th October 2012 Time: 6.00pm – 8.00 pm
Venue: Fale, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat Ratu Sukuna Road, SUVA, Fiji.
This launch is jointly coordinated by the Forum Secretariat and the AusAID Pacific Leadership Programme.
2. Event: Regional Launch of the Forum Compact Reports: 2012 Tracking the Effectiveness of Development Efforts in the Pacific and the 2012 Pacific Regional Millennium Development Goals Tracking Report. Both Reports have been written by the Forum Secretariat in collaboration with Pacific Island Countries and development partners.

3. Meeting: 11th European Development Fund Consultation Meeting.
Date and Time: 11th October 2012, 9.30 am - 10.45am (Welcome remarks and keynote address only) 12th October 2012, 1.00pm - 2.00pm(Meeting concluding press conference)
